At Lumiere, we understand that leaving can be just as scary as coming into the facility. It’s normal to be worried about staying on track once you’re back to regular life, but we have several programs and support measures in place to make the transition easier and help you continue your sober lifestyle after the initial treatment has ended.
For some of our patients, Lumiere is just the first step on the road to recovery. Once you’ve finished our program, it’s important to continue your treatment in an environment that can continue to provide the support you need. When you’re ready to move on, we can provide you with information on our recommended treatment facilities, whether you’re looking to enter into a partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient treatment, or even just attend group meetings or counseling sessions. Our field team personally visits these facilities, so we understand exactly what they offer and you can be sure they fit the same high standards we have at Lumiere.
When you’re ready to leave our facility, we provide the contact information for one of our trained alumni coordinators who can help as you navigate the post-treatment transition and potential triggers. You will be able to contact your alumni coordinator via a direct line, but the coordinator will also contact you to check in and see how things are going, keeping the line of communication open. Your alumni coordinator can be a source of support during challenging times and also help provide suggestions on how to stay involved in the Lumiere community, such as via our alumni group.
The Aftercare Program and Alumni Groups
Lumiere Healing Centers offers an aftercare program to help our patients transition from treatment and maintain their sober lifestyles.
Once you’ve gone through the aftercare program, the alumni group is the next step. The alumni group meets on a weekly basis and focuses on giving back by motivating and supporting those still undergoing treatment. Alumni are able to participate in some of our social activities, such as movie night, and have access to Lumiere’s exclusive social network, where they can share encouraging stories and quotes and stay updated on upcoming events at the center. Some of our alumni also enjoy coming in to speak to current patients, sharing their stories and inspiring others at group sessions.
